My mom says I take life serious. It’s true, I do, especially compared to my twin brother, Nate. I really do! This past week was a serious week. Not just because I’m serious but because so many difficult, heavy and serious things happened. There was a new season of grief, leadership decisions that seemed impossible, hard conversations with people I’m close to, and so much more. It was one of the hardest weeks I’ve walked through in a long time.
I walked straight out of that week into a weekend away with friends. I’ll admit the transition in my heart and mind was difficult. I couldn’t quite get out of the serious in my mind. And then Jessica and I started standing on these posts, posing for pictures and then jumping off. It was light. It was fun. It was a turning point for my mind and spirit.
It was a great reminder to have a little fun… even among the heavy and hard.
